Difference & Operation Points of Front Panel Mount vs Rear Panel Mount

Installation Core Criterion

  • Maintenance Convenience + Aesthetic Requirement + Structural Stability: The selection of front/rear panel mount is based on on-site maintenance needs and equipment appearance requirements, while ensuring the installation firmness to avoid loosening caused by vibration.

Mounting Type Difference & Key Operation Points

Front Panel Mount

The connector is inserted from the front of the panel, and the fixing nut is tightened from the rear of the panel. It is featured with convenient on-site disassembly and maintenance, no need to disassemble the equipment shell, which is suitable for scenarios requiring frequent maintenance and inspection.

Rear Panel Mount

The connector is inserted from the rear of the panel, and the fixing nut is tightened from the front of the panel. The front of the panel has no exposed nut structure, with neat and beautiful appearance, which is suitable for equipment panels with aesthetic priority.

Opscom Installation Recommendation & Standard

Panel thickness requirement: ≤ 5mm

Fixing accessory: Use matching anti-loosening nut

Installation test standard: Tensile test ≥ 50N to ensure no loosening

Technical Note: For front/rear panel mount installation, it is necessary to ensure that the panel opening size matches the connector to avoid installation gaps affecting the protection effect; the anti-loosening nut must be tightened with a torque wrench (recommended torque 1.5-2N·m) to avoid over-tightening causing panel deformation or under-tightening leading to loosening; regular torque recheck is recommended for connectors used in high-vibration scenarios to ensure long-term installation stability.
