Octopuscon 7/8" Bus Fault Troubleshooting Principle

  • Common Fault Causes: Pin misconnection, poor contact, improper grounding, missing terminal resistors and electrical interference are the main reasons for bus communication failure.

Common Causes of Bus Communication Failure

Wiring & Grounding Faults

Pin Connection Issues:
• Incorrect pin wiring or poor contact
• Leads to signal interruption or unstable transmission
Shield Grounding Fault:
• Ungrounded shield layer of cable
• Reduces anti-interference capability significantly

Impedance & Interference Faults

Terminal Resistor Missing:
• No 120Ω terminal resistor at both ends of the bus
• Causes signal reflection and communication failure
Strong Electrical Interference:
• Interference from high-voltage power lines
• Solution: Use shielded cables for bus wiring

Technical Note: When troubleshooting bus faults, first check pin connection and 120Ω terminal resistors, then verify shield grounding and use shielded cables to avoid strong electrical interference for stable communication.
